Postgraduate studies

As I have said in some previous publications, I have had the idea of studying a master's degree for quite some time. I know that people are changing, so it is still very difficult for me to decide exactly what master's degree I want. However, what interests me most now is disaster risk management and territorial planning.  My dream is to study in England. I have done some research and there are very good masters there in the area I am interested in. Can you imagine being selected at the university of Oxford, Cambridge or Leeds? It would be amazing, I hope to try in a few more years. Although the truth is that I prefer not to have any expectations, the selection processes for those universities are very demanding, but it is certainly worth trying. Ideally I would like to study a part-time course, hopefully in the mornings. But since my idea is to live there while the master's degree lasts, I have no problem with studying at other times of the day. I intend to apply through B

My future job

I am currently studying geography and I like it very much. Therefore, the kind of work I would like to have is that of a geographer.   I imagine it to be very entertaining, working with other people, and traveling to new places from time to time. I would like a job that combines outdoor work with indoor work.   For the area I am interested in, I would love to work in a government office such as ONEMI or SERNAGEOMIN.   I am not studying any specialty yet, but I would like to do a diploma on disaster risks or something similar. And well, in the future, I would like to study a master's degree in England as I mentioned in a previous post. But that is a very big dream and I know that there is still time for that.   The truth is that I don't aspire to a great salary, I know it won't be like that. But I am interested in being able to apply my knowledge and above all to contribute positively to the planning for natural or man-made disasters in the country.   I also hope

Wild animals and pets

I love animals. When I was a child, I lived in a house and I had two very dear dogs, we played a lot and when they died it was really very sad. When I was 12 years old I moved from living at home to an apartment and because it is a small space, it is better not to have pets here. I think that's good because, although I love animals, I think they should have space to move around, play and explore. That's why I don't think it's right to have animals in a zoo. I think that having animals in captivity is a practice that should be stopped, because nothing justifies having animals locked up in a very different environment than the one they are naturally adapted to. I think the same thing about the animals used in medical research, the clothes made with animal skin and also about eating them. We must leave the animals free and not occupy them to satisfy human whims. Finally, the sea is my favorite place because I love to swim, so if I could be an animal, I would want to be

My childhood days

Music is definitely very good at making one remember moments. In my case, listening to Axe or songs from the Mekano youth program, takes me back to my childhood immediately, being with my friends from school learning the choreography and lyrics of the songs. I don't remember which is my first childhood memory, but I do have some favorites. For example, when we would go to the beach with my family during the winter or summer vacations. We would always stay in the same beach cottage located in El Tabo and it was really fun. My favorite activity as a child was swimming. I was a swimmer in the children's team of the Universidad de Chile from 8 to 16 years old. I trained from Monday to Saturday, and even at some point I thought that as an adult I would be a professional swimmer haha In general, my childhood was good. Maybe because of swimming, I missed out on trying other activities, but it was all worth it, as I had a lot of good times and only have good memories. Finally, I share

The best holidays I've had

Throughout my life, I think I have had many unforgettable vacations. However, one that I remember very fondly was in September last year, specifically the National Holidays. With 5 friends, we went to Hornopirén, staying in a house that belongs to the parents of one of my friends. The plan was to go for five days, but we were having so much fun that we finally stayed for 10 days.  During the days we were there we did many fun things, like going to the river, walking around town, trekking in the National Park on a rainy day, going to the hot springs at 2 am, going to the fonda, cooking all together, eating empanadas, drinking earthquake, beer, wine and many other things haha I consider it one of the most unforgettable trips since I tend to plan a lot of the things I do, but this time it was different. It was a very adventurous, improvised and spontaneous trip since we decided to go just two days before. Here is a photo of the place, captured by one of my friends.

A country I would like to know

Someday, I would like to travel to the United Kingdom. For several years now I have been dreaming of getting to know Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and of course England. I don't know much about the history of the country or anything like that.  It even surprises me that there is still a monarchy there. However, I have felt linked to it through music since many of my favorite bands come from there, such as The Cure, Suede, Pulp, Oasis, Blur, Joy Division and others. In addition, I have also felt attracted to the United Kingdom as it has been the setting for many films or series that I like (special mention for Peaky Blinders haha). If I were to go there, I would like to see its incredible natural landscapes, as well as its cities, especially London, Liverpool or Manchester.  I don't know if I would live there, I think I should visit it first (and improve my English). However, many times I dream of studying a master's degree in England, and although it looks difficult, dr
